Meet Our People

Sarah Ansbro, MD, MBA

Dr. Sarah Ansbro is a board-certified psychiatrist who has cared for adults in San Antonio for over a decade. She earned her medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine and her MBA at Rice University, then completed her psychiatry residency at the University of South Florida.

Her practice covers depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, bipolar disorder, OCD, and eating disorders. She is known for taking on complex cases, especially for people who have tried other treatments without success.

Dr. Ansbro works to simplify medication rather than add to it. She pairs careful prescribing with therapy, integrative practices, and appointments long enough to actually talk.

She is a proud LGBTQ+ physician and advocate, and she speaks Spanish. She founded Cantera Psychiatry so that patients could get care built around who they are, not just what they were diagnosed with.

Erin Rifenburgh, MS, PMHNP

Erin Rifenburgh is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner whose path to psychiatry started with people, not prescriptions. He earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and a bachelor's degree in nursing from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, a master's in counseling from Texas A&M University-San Antonio, and his nurse practitioner training through Texas State University.

Before becoming a psych NP, Erin worked in community counseling, supported survivors of domestic abuse, and served as a case manager for people navigating serious mental health challenges. That front-line experience shapes how he shows up for patients today.

Outside of Cantera, Erin is a proud dad to three kids and enjoys spending quality time with his family.

LTC (R) Dennis Ansbro, MBA

Dennis Ansbro brings a rare kind of experience to Cantera: he knows what it means to seek mental health care while serving in the U.S. military.

A retired Army service member, Dennis chose to see a private psychiatrist in 2019 to protect his long-term wellness. That decision helped him build lasting habits of meditation and mindfulness, and years later, his confidential records became the documentation he needed to secure a medical retirement after nearly two decades of service.

Now, as Cantera Psychiatry’s Business Development Manager, Dennis helps other service members and patients understand their options for private, confidential care. He is also married to Dr. Sarah Ansbro, and proudly supports her approach to compassionate, inclusive model for psychiatric wellness,
